Position Summary:

This position has responsibility for controlling projected, actual R&D and grant projects, reporting outputs using a suite of standard reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) monthly in a format conducive to IFRS reporting, including timing overruns and expenditure variances.  This includes NEXUS expenditure and all R&D and grant projects >$15,000.

Sign off with CFO on all R&D and government grant activity on a 6-monthly basis in an IFRS format for listing reporting purposes.

This position has a leading role within project financial control and analytics in support of the Project Manager and Key Account Manager assigned to a portfolio of client projects & high-level business reporting (Executive Committee). The position will use the Diaceutics ERP tool extensively and become the system specialist controlling project data analysis and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This role includes:

  1. Global research and development expenditure within the Diaceutics Group companies (United Kingdom/Ireland/ USA and Asia). In each jurisdiction:
    1. Project budgets for research and development expenditure on a rolling 24-month basis.
    2. Prepare in conjunction with the Finance Department detailed expenditure models forecasting expensed and capitalised expenditure.
    3. Liaise with Heads of Departments and extract R&D activity depending on the corporate plan looking forward.
    4. Prepare detailed reports on each project within each jurisdiction resulting in a full jurisdictional report and finally global report the research and development activity on a quarterly basis, presenting this to the CFO for sign off.
    5. Use best practice proforma R&D report prepared for a single R&D project.
    6. Prepare the tax computation in conjunction with PWC and or other accounting agents following from these R&D jurisdictional reports.
    7. Liaise with government authorities around queries in conjunction with these reports.
    8. Maximise the R&D tax reliefs and rebates in all jurisdictions.
    9. Government grant assistance.
    10. Work globally to identify government grant opportunities and work with the CFO to map these out globally and approval to proceed.
    11. Co-ordinate the Invest NI (INI) grant for £487,000. Report quarterly on the progress in terms of the heading captured within exhibit 1. Report into the Finance Department and then onto INI for payment of grant approval.
    12. Lead EDB application for our Singapore company.
    13. Seek grant opportunities in USA; NJ state and NYC state authorities.
    14. Seek opportunities in China for grant assistance in conjunction with CFO and COO.
  2. Project and portfolio financial control and reporting:
    1. Supporting the Project Manager and Key Account Manager through project financial data analysis & reporting.
    2. Development of bespoke reports from ERP that enable project and portfolio insight, informing decision making.
    3. Functional and business level financial analysis and reporting each month that supports Heads of Departments’ budget management.
    4. ERP specialist insight knowledge and expertise i.e. the go to person for ERP analytics.
    5. Leads ERP update implementations with Diaceutics insights and reporting knowledge i.e. ensuring implementation is aligned with Diaceutics working practices and expectations.

General Education & Experience:

  1. Education – Bachelor’s degree in a business field is required.
  2. Experience – 3-5 years’ experience of Financial Control.
  3. Computer and Software Knowledge and Skills – Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, skilled user of a variety of tools and software including ERP.
  4. Exemplary problem resolution skills and organizational capabilities.
  5. Thorough understanding of project/program management financial control methods and earned value management.
  6. Knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Ability to work on multiple simultaneous activities with tight timelines.
  9. Ability to think creatively.
  10. Ability to work non-traditional hours in a remote organization.

Compensation and benefits
Diaceutics will offer the successful candidate an attractive remuneration package. The successful candidate will receive a monthly base compensation.
