This collaborative industry initiative will assess concordance in variant detection across next-generation sequencing (NGS) panels and platforms used in routine clinical practice

The study will generate evidence to strengthen transparency, confidence, and quality in informed biomarker testing to maximize patient access to personalized care

New York, Belfast and London, 20 August 2026 - Diaceutics PLC (AIM: DXRX), a leading technology and solutions provider to the pharma and biotech industry and the Precision Cancer Consortium (PCC) today announced the launch of a new NGS Concordance Study designed to evaluate variation in variant detection across NGS panels and platforms used in routine clinical practice. Through this collaboration, the organizations aim to generate evidence on testing concordance, improve understanding of testing variability, and unite precision medicine stakeholders to advance confidence in oncology diagnostics and biomarker testing.

"Precision medicine depends on the quality and consistency of diagnostic testing,” said Susanne Munksted, Chief Precision Medicine Officer at Diaceutics. “As the number and complexity of NGS panels continue to grow, it is increasingly important that laboratories, diagnostics companies, and the wider precision oncology community work together to better understand testing variability and generate evidence that strengthens confidence in biomarker testing. This study represents an important opportunity to advance that understanding and support better outcomes for patients.”

The study builds on growing recognition of the need for greater transparency and confidence in biomarker testing. Findings from Diaceutics’ Clinical Practice Gaps in Precision Medicine research showed encouraging improvements in biomarker testing performance, while also highlighting the growing complexity of the diagnostics landscape and the need to better understand how testing approaches perform in routine clinical practice. As NGS testing becomes central to identifying patients for targeted therapies, understanding how different panels and platforms perform in routine practice has become an important focus for the industry.

“No single organization can address the challenges facing precision oncology alone. By bringing together expertise from across the healthcare ecosystem, this collaboration aims to generate evidence that improves understanding of testing concordance and supports informed biomarker testing,” said John Longshore, Chair of the PCC. “Through initiatives such as the NGS concordance study, the PCC continues to advance its mission of improving access to high-quality biomarker testing and helping more patients benefit from precision oncology.”

Key study objectives

  • Evaluate up to 20 NGS assays currently used in routine clinical practice across US laboratories
  • Assess concordance by comparing identified genomic variants against known reference profiles within synthetic samples
  • Improve understanding of variability across different NGS panels and testing platforms
  • Generate evidence to support future scientific publications, conference presentations, and industry discussions
  • Foster collaboration between precision medicine stakeholders including pharmaceutical providers, laboratories, and diagnostics companies to advance confidence in oncology testing
  • Advance understanding of concordance across routine NGS panels and inform future discussions on testing quality, transparency, and best practice in precision oncology

Industry collaboration opportunity

Diaceutics and PCC welcome engagement from laboratories, diagnostic companies, and precision medicine stakeholders supporting an industry-wide effort to understand testing concordance, build confidence in cancer diagnostics, and highlight the importance of test selection in patient identification. By participating in the study, organizations can contribute to collaborative evidence generation that supports improvements in testing performance, transparency and quality across precision oncology.
